Progress Report - Urgent and emergency care review
A review of urgent and emergency care – also referred to as unscheduled care - is now underway.
The review aims to establish a new regional care model for Northern Ireland.
A project has been established to take this work forward and will soon begin engaging with local interest groups on this important issue.
The proposals arising from this work will be subject to public consultation.
This review follows completion of a public health needs assessment for urgent and emergency care, which was commissioned by the Department of Health, and is available to view online.
Dr John Maxwell, who is heading up the review team explains that the views of patients will be fundamental in designing how any new model
for urgent and emergency care is developed.
