    An opportunity has arisen for Social Services Officers for the Office of Social Services (4 posts) in the Department of Health. This secondment is available for a minimum of 12 months, with the possibility of an extension of up to a further 2 years. Candidates will be seconded on their current pay, terms and conditions.

    Three of the posts are full-time (37 hours per week). One of the posts is part-time (22.5 hours per week). This competition may be used to fill further vacancies which arise within the next 12 months.

    Overview

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for 4 Social Services Officer posts to join the Department of Health’s Office of Social Services Team. Two of the posts are for children’s services, and the other two are for social care workforce development and social work workforce development. Whilst members of the OSS team contribute to the full range of social work and social care issues, the vacant posts are broken down as follows:

    Post A: This postholder will lead on – Children’s services: residential care, kinship care, fostering, domestic and intercountry adoption.

    Post B: This postholder will lead on – Children’s services: family support, children with a disability and preventive/early engagement with children and families (part-time 22.5 hours).

    Post C: This postholder will lead on social care workforce development.

    Post D: This postholder will lead on social work workforce development.
