Tobacco statistics
In February 2012, the Department of Health (DoH) published the '10 year tobacco control strategy for Northern Ireland', the overall aim of which is to create a tobacco free society. The strategy has three key objectives: fewer people smoking, more smokers quitting, and protection for all from secondhand smoke.
Information provided
This section looks at trends in smoking prevalence, people's attitudes towards smoking including smoking in the home and in family cars, and attitudes towards smoke-free legislation. Data on persons seeking help to quit at smoking cessation services are also included.
