Many studies show that health is affected to a greater extent by economic, social and environmental factors than by health behaviours or health and social care services.
Making life better
This is recognised by making life better, a new ten year strategic framework for public health to provide direction for policies and actions to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Northern Ireland and reduce inequalities in health. It identifies a number of long term outcomes which address the wider determinants of health as well as those which focus on specific health outcomes.
