  • HSC Pension Board Independent Chair

    The Department of Health is seeking to appoint an Independent Chair to the HSC Pension Board. 

    The Board has responsibility for assisting the HSC Pension Scheme Manager with securing compliance with the scheme regulations and other legislation relating to the governance and administration of the scheme and securing compliance with requirements imposed by the Pensions Regulator.

    The Pension Board comprises 12 members (6 employer representatives and 6 member representatives). Employer representatives are drawn from HSC Trusts, the Business Services Organisation/the Regional HSC Board (representing smaller ALBs) and general practitioners. Member representatives are drawn from the main trade unions, together with representation from the British Medical Association/British Dental Association.

    The Chair of the HSC Pension Board will lead the Board in monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability.

    Criteria for all applicants

    The Independent Chair requires no specific qualifications; however applicants must meet the following five criteria:

    Leadership; Business Sense; Corporate Governance; Stakeholder Engagement; and Financial Management Responsibility & Experience.

    Remuneration

    Independent Chair £380 per day

    Time Commitment 10 - 20 days per year (Board meets 4 times per year)

    The deadline for receipt of applications is 12:00noon on Thursday 16 March 2017. Late applications will not be accepted.
