    This section provides guidance on death certification and how to complete a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) with a correct cause of death (CoD) section using a handwritten MCCD.Please note – use this guidance only when a handwritten MCCD is being issued.This material has been designed for health and social care professionals. All healthcare workers should bear in mind the need to consider this guidance carefully and, using their own clinical judgment, to consider whether it is appropriate to any individual case.
