Children’s Social Care Services

The Children’s Social Care Services Strategic Reform board will aim to address a number of known service challenges that are currently being faced by those in the sector, particularly in relation to an ever-increasing volume and complexity of case work. On the basis that the reform aims are being met, we would expect to see an improvement for all stakeholders in Children’s Social Care. The Strategic Reform Board will be responsible for providing strategy, direction and governance whilst the reform programme is being delivered. This will include collaboration across organizations, providing necessary resources, monitoring progress and risks to progress and expediting decision making should it become necessary. There will be 9 workstreams established to help carry out the aims.

  1. Waiting Lists
  2. Workforce
  3. Residential Placement Capacity
  4. Fostering
  5. Children with a Disability
  6. Regional Care and Justice Campus Implementation
  7. Policy and Legislative Reform
