Public Appointments Unit is responsible for managing the department's procedures for public appointments and has an ongoing responsibility for consultation and liaison with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland on the operation of these procedures.



The unit manages the entire appointment process from advertising to interview panels and is also responsible for co-ordinating action on complaints. The department is responsible for managing 159 public appointments across 18 Arm’s Length Bodies such including the Health and Social Care Trusts, Business Services Organisation, Patient Client Council, NI Fire & Rescue Service and other Special Agencies.
