The purpose of this review was to:
- examine the extent to which the SBNI is meeting its statutory objective, that is, improving inter-agency cooperation and facilitating/contributing to the effectiveness of what is done by member bodies to safeguard children and young people in Northern Ireland and promote their welfare
- make recommendations on the future arrangements for inter-agency co-operation to safeguard children and young people in Northern Ireland
