CAMHS waiting time statistics for Northern Ireland (June 2026)

This quarterly report presents the total number of children and adolescents referred to mental health services who are waiting for their initial assessment by the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), broken down by time waiting and HSC Trust.
The statistics presented up to March 2025 in the current publication are derived from monthly returns completed by each HSC Trust in relation to Mental Health Outpatients Waiting Times. These returns were submitted to the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) for validation and subsequently shared with the Information and Analysis Directorate (IAD). From June 2026 the statistics are based on a validated extract from the Encompass system provided by SPPG. Encompass is a new electronic patient record system that creates a single digital care record for every citizen in Northern Ireland who receives health and social care. It creates a better experience for patients, service users and staff by bringing together information from various existing systems that do not currently communicate effectively.
Caution must be taken when comparing Northern Ireland figures across the quarters as data sourced after the Encompass rollout should be considered as a series break.
