Health inequalities annual report 2023

This annual publication presents a comprehensive analysis of health inequality gaps between the most and least deprived areas of NI, and within health and social care (HSC) trust and local government district (LGD) areas. The report is accompanied by downloadable data tables which contain all figures including district electoral areas (DEA) as well as urban and rural breakdowns.

On 29^th June 2023, the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency (NISRA) released the ‘Rebased Population and Migration Estimates Northern Ireland (2011-2021)’. This revised series of population and sub-population figures for Northern Ireland replaces the old rolled-forward series which was based on the 2011 Census and was used in the production of statistics contained in the report below. DoH will be undertaking an exercise to update the back-series of health inequalities statistics accordingly, and this may lead to changes in some statistics for future reports.
