Muckamore patients and families encouraged to have their say

Date published: 01 December 2020

Patients and families of Muckamore Abbey Hospital are invited to have their say on the Public Inquiry into abuse at the hospital.

MAH Engagement

In September Minister Swann confirmed that a statutory Public Inquiry would be held and made a commitment to families and patients that they would be given the opportunity to influence the remit and scope of the Inquiry.

The Minister has now written to the families and relatives inviting them to participate in a series of engagement meetings facilitated by the Patient Client Council.

The Patient Client Council is acting as an Independent Public Advocate in relation to the Inquiry and are managing the engagement events which will take place week commencing 7 December.

Families and patients are invited to register interest with the Patient Client Council.

The Patient Client Council's Muckamore helpline number is 028 9536 1708.

Copies of the letters are published on the Department of Health website.
