The service framework for children and young people is the seventh in a planned series of service framework to be developed. It aims to improve the health and well being of children, their carers and families.

Consultation description
All service frameworks incorporate a specific set of standards that are identified as generic. The generic standards were subject to public consultation during 2012, with the consultation closing on 6th August 2012. The standards have since been finalised and agreed. The service framework for children and young people does not include the generic standards for healthy eating, physical activity, smoking prevention and cessation or alcohol. This is in recognition of the fact that these standards are aimed at adults and alternative standards are included that cover the underlying themes. We are not seeking comment on the generic standards as part of this consultation. The relevant standards are clearly marked as generic throughout the document.
The closing date for responses is Friday 30th January 2015.
