    Consultation description

For many members of the public, pharmacists and pharmacy staff are among the most accessible of all health care workers. The increasing scope of practice and range of responsibilities of pharmacy technicians as part of the wider pharmacy team, requires a commensurate emphasis on their professional regulation.

This consultation will seek views on establishing pharmacy technicians as a registered and regulated profession in NI and enable the Regulator to strengthen its role in protecting patients and promoting high standards, thereby enhancing the public’s confidence and trust in pharmacy practice.

Please feel free to share with your networks as appropriate. We look forward to hearing your views.

The consultation, including full details of the proposals, and how to respond are available on this page.
