Consultation description

The Department is consulting on amendments to the New Firefighters’ Pension Scheme Order (NI) 2007 to provide further remedy to people employed as retained firefighters between 7 April 2000 and 5 April 2006, by giving them the opportunity to purchase their pre-July 2000 service and have this included in their pension entitlement.

This consultation on the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme seeks responses from interested parties on the draft regulations needed to enact these changes.
