Work of AHPs recognised at Advancing Healthcare Awards.

Health Minister Mike Nesbitt met the Allied Health Professionals from Northern Ireland who won their categories at the recent UK-wide Advancing Healthcare awards.

The awards recognise and celebrate the work of AHPs, Healthcare Scientists and those who work in support roles.

The winners of the Northern Ireland Government’s award for partnering, leading, and shaping to improve population health are South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust’s Lorraine Coulter, Lead professional for Speech and Language Therapy, and Sarah Ratcliffe, Speech and Language Therapist,  for the Help Kids Talk initiative. It was established by Early Intervention Lisburn and SEHSCT in 2017.

The winners of the Award for Creative and Innovative Practice are Debbie McGugan, Community Rehab Dietitian, Pamela McMullan, Dietetic Assistant Practitioner, and the team at Northern Health and Social Care Trust, for the Turning the Searchlight on Sarcopenia and Frailty at Dalriada Community Hospital initiative.

The UK Advancing Healthcare Awards ceremony takes place every year and this year’s event was held in London on 26 April 2024.
