Public Appointment Competition for 2 Non-Executive Members to the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency (NIGALA 1/22)

The Department of Health is seeking to appoint 2 Non-Executive Members,  ( 1 x Lay, and 1 x Legal) to the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency (NIGALA).

“The Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency (NIGALA) was established as a Special Agency by virtue of powers contained in the Health and Personal Social Services (Special Agencies) (Northern Ireland) Order 1990. The Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem (Establishment and Constitution) Order (NI) 1995 was introduced on 1st December 1995 making provision for the constitution of the Agency and the tenure of office of Agency members.  The Board of NIGALA comprises a Non-Executive Chair, four Non-Executive members and the Chief Executive.”

The NIGALA currently has 2 vacancies on its Board– 1 Lay Member and 1 Legal Member.  

Applicants for these positions must on their application form, and if invited for interview, meet the following essential criteria: Strategic Thinking, Collaborative Working, Corporate Governance and, if applying for the Legal Member role: Relevant Knowledge and Experience.
